2020 - Life Membership awarded - Joylene Lee-Archer

Joy became a member of the Port Adelaide Camera Club in 2010 – a time when the club was in a dire position and seemed likely to close. Membership was an all-time low and discussions were held regarding the dissolution of the club.

Joy and Allan Griffin, both new members to the club in 2010, stepped forward to fill critical committee positions and thus began the establishment of the sound membership and financial foundation that the club still benefits from.

During her time as a member, Joy has held many roles within the club to the benefit of its members. She has been Secretary, Vice President, Judges Convener and SAPF Delegate. While also a committee member, Joy takes an active role with the ongoing functioning of the club. She helps on club nights; welcoming members and visitors to the club with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. She participates in Interclub outings, club events, manning PACC stalls at local fairs and club promotional exhibitions and mentors new club members. She demonstrates an extraordinary commitment and outstanding service to her club.

She has been a continuous competing member of the club for the past 11 years, winning many trophies and awards over the years that she’s been a member. She represents the Port Adelaide Camera Club at the clubs’ annual interclub competitions as well as at the South Australian Photographic Federation’s Annual Exhibition and exhibits her photographic work at State, National and International level.

Joy has gained her Australian Photographic Society’s letters of AAPS (Associate of the Australian Photographic Society); an honour which is awarded to photographers who display photographic excellence.
Joy is also a well-liked and much respected judge for the SAPF. It is Joy's meritorious, selfless and exemplary contribution to the Port Adelaide Camera Club that has seen her rewarded with Life Membership of our Club.
